Those are words that speak to photographers.

That’s just what we’ve done for our 2010 Moab Photography Adventure.  Timed for the full moon, and planned around getting out for the best light to photograph both iconic and off the beaten path scenes, this photographic adventure will be a great opportunity to work on composition and take home dramatic images.

Meet us in Moab next October and we’ll explore parts of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks – visiting places that we’ve enjoyed photographing over the past two decades, timing our outings for best light specific to our subjects, and the position of the moon.

This will be an active adventure – and you’ll need to be prepared to carry your cameras a least a couple miles a day over terrain that is sometimes challenging.  Your reward for that will include vistas and photographic opportunities that you simply can’t achieve otherwise.

We plan to hike up to Delicate Arch when late day sun and nearly full moon create a great combination…

To witness and capture early morning light
at Mesa Arch…

To capture iconic images of the Windows…

And artistic images of both Double
and Double O Arches…

We’ll also show you dramatic redrock subjects that are rarely visited by photographers and angles few capture!

We’ll take you to some of our favorite places for sunrise and sunset.

We’ll work through the challenges of dealing with the dramatic light of this region – sometimes we’ll be facing situations with more than 12 stops of dynamic range!

And we’ll create great image designs using the bold design elements this dramatic landscape offers!

We’ve arranged for a local guide and driver for this adventure, who will offer interpretation while we concentrate on coaching photography.  Everyone will need to be reasonably fit for this adventure so that we can take the entire group to some stunning places.

Fees include local guide, transportation (based from Moab), entry fees and permits, lodging, breakfasts, arrival dinner (catered), two field lunches.  You’ll be responsible for getting to Moab, some lunches, most dinners, gratuities for the guide.

We suggest Grand Junction, Colorado as an arrival airport.
