We’ve been working, quietly, for some time to put together an Antarctica Photography Adventure – custom built to address the needs and wants of photographers, with important photographic opportunities at the Falklands and South Georgia. 

Here is where we are:

Most importantly we can build a group within the group on the Plancius and have our own guides and landing vessels – and we can move at “photographers’ paces” when we go ashore.  We’ll also have access to rooms where we can talk photography – perhaps even go through some PowerPoint shows to build skills.

The Plancius has not yet posted dates for 2014.  We will be taking the very first dates in 2014 – even if they start the last couple of days of 2013.  That gets us to Antarctica just as more parts of the continent are opening up for our explorations – but before the ice gets “too” covered with droppings (distracts in the photos). 

We have attached an itinerary that will be very much like the one we will follow.  You’ll note that we have good opportunities in both the Falklands and South Georgia.  We felt that if we were all making this long journey (once in most of our lives) we ought to get the most opportunity out of it!  We think you’ll enjoy the itinerary that we’ve selected.

On the Plancius, we selected “twin window cabins” for our standard – but you can upgrade or go more budget, depending on your circumstances.  We are not all tied to the same level of room.

We are giving you the details we have, before dates and prices have been totally finalized, because it takes time to block space and arrange finances for a major adventure like the Antarctica Photography Adventure.
