The SaharaA Bedouin camp – great tents (complete with bathrooms) hours away from cities, gave us opportunities to photograph dunes without traces of people or ambient light at night.

We did have lights in our tents, but as we returned from dinner, the pathway (a Berber rug in the sand) was lit by 2 candles – enough to light the tent and dune for the 20 second exposure of the stars.
